Hi.

"Hi." That's probably the only word I could tell anyone I meet - either you're someone new or an old friend. In any case, let me introduce myself. My web name is Sophie. I like it. It's unassuming, short and easy to spell. However, I don't think I look like a "Sophie." People with such a name somehow stands out. They're tall and fierce - that's how I would imagine a woman names Sophie would look like.

I am petite. I am not overweight, but I have some extra pounds that I intend to loose through proper diet and swimming. Yes, I swim. Other than chess, swimming is my go-to fitness regimen. Most people know how to run, but the question is: can they swim? I've always enjoyed being in the water. It's relaxing and I feel so much at ease. Breast is my best and most graceful stroke. Whenever I do laps, I could feel my body gliding and slicing through the water. That's how magnificent it feels. Anyway, back to where we were...

I have an awesome and challenging job as an HR practitioner for a firm based in Manila. However, no matter how stressful the job gets sometimes, nothing beats the discipline in personally observing a work-life balance. I do this by traveling - not shopping or going to the spa. I could be gone from a day to 2 weeks. Upon returning to work, the feeling would be very much different, as if everything inside of me has just been replenished.

When I'm not at work, you can catch me at school. I'm in grad school.

In case you want to know my ideologies:

1. Having been educated in Catholic Schools all my life, I could say I support the church. However, I cannot say I am strictly conservative. To give you a picture, I am neither pro nor anti RH bill. I think they just need to revise it to protect the lives of the unborn.

2. I am offended when women are debased by men or other women.

3. Capitalists and social entrepreneurs should work together to redistribute the wealth.

If you would assess my life, I am on the normal spectrum, I guess. Although there would be times that I may jump to the other side.

Oh, I suppose you're asking why do I have this blog. Isn't it obvious, I'm looking for a date>serious date>relationship. Okay, a little background on my relationship status: I only had one boyfriend and we were together for two years. The reason for the breakup I intend to disclose some other time. It's been three years. I dated a programmer/photographer, stockbroker, engineer/contractor, seaman, an unemployed (how else should I him?), call center agent and a physics teacher. We just didn't click.
